INK FOR LEATHER range is completely salt free, so it doesn’t contribute in any way with salts such as chlorides and sulfates to the pollution of tannery sewage.

Thanks to their chemical nature, INK FOR LEATHER are insoluble in water therefore, during fixation, they are adsorbed on leather allowing to obtain totally exhausted bath. Color the leather, not the water!

No release of banned aromatic amines in the case of an item dyed with INK FOR LEATHER. No dangerous raw materials have been selected, so we avoid any hazardous classification for the entire range.

INK FOR LEATHER colors have passed all the most strict tests

Colour fastness and ageing to artificial light at high temperatures (UNI EN ISO 105-B06)

INK FOR LEATHER colors were tested with excellent results with Xenon arc fading lamp test according to UNI EN ISO 105-B06 method, usually used for automotive leathers.

Xenon Test Chamber is used to test the accelerating exposure to sunlight and to bad weather, in accordance with the parameters required by the main national and international standards.

As an example, here are the results of the tests of three INK FOR LEATHER colors and a normal dyestuff. The hole on the leather specifically shows the excellent light fastness of the section dyed with INK FOR LEATHER, test required by a well-known car manufacturer.

Test conditions for colour fastness and ageing to artificial light at high temperatures (UNI EN ISO 105-B06): • exposure time 180h; • temperature 100°C; • irradiation power 60W/m².

Colour Fastness To Migration Into Plasticized Poly(vinyl Chloride)
(UNI EN ISO 15701:2001)

The purpose of this test is to determine if the leather placed in contact with a white plastic material, may give rise to migration. The point is to verify if the leather can be safely used to produce an item in which have to coexist different materials (fabrics, plastic, etc), without any color transfer. By their chemical nature, INK FOR LEATHER colors ensure excellent results to PVC migration test, whereas this is not guaranteed by dyestuffs.

Colour Fastness To Mild Washing (UNI EN ISO 15703:2001)

It has been shown that the color fastness to washing of INK FOR LEATHER is excellent and ensures the exceptional durability of the leather item.

This test is used to evaluate not only the loss of color due to a mild washing, but also if the dyeing agents can migrate from the leather to a multi-fibre fabric. As an example, follows a table with the comparative test results between INK FOR LEATHER colors and some items dyed with dyestuffs.
